Club Membership Information
Welcome to Isa Mother City Rollers (IMCR), an artistic skating club based in Cape Town, dedicated to developing artistic skating. We’re a community-driven club where skating is more than just a sport – it’s about connection, creativity, and collaboration.
Who We Are
IMCR is a registered sports club and Non-Profit Company (NPC), affiliated with Roller Sport South Africa (RSSA). This affiliation connects us to coaching, training, competitions, and representation through the South African Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture.
Our Mission
Isa Mother City Rollers promotes the joy of roller skating as both a sport and a leisure activity, with a focus on dance and artistic skating. ‘Isa’ means beautiful or ‘mooi’ in the KhoiKhoi language, reflecting our celebration of Cape Town’s beauty and South Africa’s diversity.
Our Values
- Passion: A love for roller sports and the joy it brings.
- Diversity & Inclusiveness: Welcoming members from all backgrounds.
- Collaboration: Building community through shared experiences.
- Movement for Life: Inspiring lifelong physical activity through skating.
- Integrity: Fostering trust and openness within our club.

Green Point Skate Sessions
If you’re unsure about signing up for membership or not quite ready to join our artistic skate classes, we invite you to attend our Free Open Sessions. These casual meetups are held every Tuesday evening in Green Point, in the large outdoor tar plaza area in front of the DHL Stadium (follow directions to Green Point McDonald’s)
These sessions are perfect for beginners! They are open to everyone, and you don’t need to be a club member to join. Just bring your own skates (protective gear recommended), and enjoy skating in a relaxed, friendly environment. There are no formal classes, it’s all about meeting fellow skaters, learning the basics, and having fun. Since these sessions are weather-dependent, be sure to check our Instagram stories on the day for updates.
It’s a great way to get a feel for our community before deciding to join IMCR and take part in our artistic skate classes.

The Kobra Kwaai sessions at Protea Sports Club are held on Sundays 10am-12pm as well as every Friday evening from 6pm-8pm.
